Retired from a long career at a chemical plant in Sarnia, Duane has been the Chairman of the Friends of Hullett for over 20 years. He is an avid hunter and angler and a natural born leader who knows how to bring everybody together and always puts the organizations interests ahead of his own. His passion for the outdoors and love for Hullett Marsh has been a driving force behind the success of the organization. 

Mat’s 30-year environmental career began with a 1994 co-op at Hullett Marsh. Now a Watershed Specialist at Maitland Valley Conservation Authority, he brings expertise in hydrology, aquatic habitats, and wetland creation. An avid birder and volunteer surveyor, Mat combines technical insight with a lifelong passion for the Marsh’s unique ecosystem.

An Environmental and Agricultural Engineer, Ryan specializes in project management for drainage, irrigation, and nutrient management systems. With deep expertise in conservation planning and carbon sequestration, Ryan provides the Friends of Hullett with technical leadership in balancing agricultural impacts with environmental stewardship and sustainable land management.

A Professor Emeritus in Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Waterloo, Mario brings 39 years of expertise in sedimentary geology and conservation research to Hullett Marsh. His extensive experience in senior university administration and environmental advocacy provides the Friends of Hullett with invaluable leadership in stewardship and organizational oversight.

Having visited the marsh since the 1970s, Steve is driven by a desire to ensure the property continues to inspire future generations just as it did for him as a child. Steve brings extensive leadership experience to the table, currently serving as a director with NAVHDA and as secretary of the Conestogo Pheasant Club, reflecting his dedication to the hunting and dog-training communities that use the marsh.

Mark has a broad range of experience in preparing both appraisal and consulting reports for various public institutions including the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), Public Services & Procurement Canada (PSPC), Hydro One Networks and various municipal governments and financial institutions across Ontario.

Hullett is pheasant hunting and dog training home base for Craig McDonald. As a new Hullett board member, he looks forward to learning about and supporting the many other activities and initiatives at the marsh.

​A long-time naturalist and environmentalist, Donna Taylor has a background in wildlife management and naturalization. Living adjacent to Hullett, she has a vested interest in the health and well-being of the area.

Deeply rooted in the Ontario landscape, Doug’s background spans a childhood on farms and in the Muskokas to professional training as a Fish and Wildlife Technologist. Although his career transitioned from field research to mental health work, he has maintained a lifelong commitment to conservation through native gardening and specialized wildlife photography at Hullett Marsh. Now serving on the Friends of Hullett Board of Directors, Doug aims to leverage his diverse experiences and passion for nature to help preserve the property's future.
