Foraging

Hullett Provincial Wildlife Area offers a diverse harvest of wild berries, leeks, and gourmet mushrooms across its forests and meadows. Ethical harvesting ensures the property remains productive for both people and the wildlife that depend on these food sources for survival.

When harvesting, please follow the "personal use" guideline; commercial harvesting is strictly prohibited. Use the "one-third" rule by never taking more than a third of a patch to allow for plant regeneration. For your own safety, avoid foraging near main roads or parking lots to steer clear of agricultural runoff and dust.

Proper identification is vital, as the marsh contains toxic look-alike species. Always maintain 100% certainty before harvesting by using a reputable field guide.
